What effect does pure Aloe Vera juice have on the skin?
 
Natural moisture retainer
Just as our Aloe Vera plants protect themselves from the hot Andalusian sun, pure Aloe Vera juice can protect our skin in the same way. Valuable Aloverose and other important carbohydrates contained in the inner leaves are excellent moisture retainers for the skin as well as for the fresh plants. These complex molecules bind moisture and saturated active substances, ready to use when necessary. And in the same way, our skin stays like the full leaves of the Aloe Vera plants, always optimally supplied with moisture.

Main ingredient Aloverose
 
Aloe Vera juice contains a multitude of substances. You can find lists of between 160 and 250 substances. The most important of these active substances is Aloverose: the acetylated polymannose from the Aloe vera barbadensis miller plant. It is the substance that nutritionists and dermatologists point to as the deciding substance for positive effects on organism and skin.

An Oasis 
Finca Verde lies at the southernmost tip of Spain, where Europe and Africa almost meet. On a clear day, you can see the majestic mountains of North Africa from the fields of Finca Verde. It is the perfect location to grow Aloe Vera, a plant which has long been known for its healing properties. Far from frost and cold, the Andalusian sun shines year-round nearly, resulting in rich vegetation.

20 years ago, we started planting the first Aloe Vera plants in the sandy soil. All of the hanging vineyards at the Finca Verde, located by the sea, were covered with hundreds of small seedlings, each a wonder of nature in itself.

Back then, as now, the conversation around the long wooden table at the Finca only revolves around one thing: quality. And how we manage to create the best Aloe Vera products in the world from our plants.

Hard labour...
... shapes the work throughout the year and in particular the work of our labourers Pedro and Claudio: The soil is worked in accordance with regulations on controlled organic cultivation, and the plants are tended year round, exclusively by hand.

Harvest time commences following the sunniest month of the year, July. Pedro and Claudio select the ripe Aloe Vera leaves in the fields, and remove them by hand from the parent plant. To do this, each individual leaf is carefully scored and removed using physical strength, without damaging the parent plant.

Laid on top of one another in open boxes, the fresh leaves are sent straight on to be further processed.

Handwork alone
Even during processing, guarantees that the precious Aloe Vera gel, which is the main ingredient in all Santaverde products, is as natural as possible and rich in active ingredients. The hand and eye of a person cannot be replaced by machinery in this case.

The fresh leaves collected from the fields are released and carefully washed. After separating the thorny side of the leaf and the hard outer layer, the soft, inner part of the leaf is removed.

Estefania then selects the transparent gel from the leaves depending to their quality and pureness. All pieces are then checked again on a special light table. This is the only way of ensuring that only the purest raw material and all the active complex of the fresh Aloe Vera plant reach our products.

What we aim to achieve from our efforts in cultivation and processing is an abundance of vital substances in our products, as well as the highest possible concentration of and the widest range of active substances.

Santaverde products boast an unusually high Aloverose content, on average, more than 1200 mg per litre Aloe Vera juice. This is ultimately due to the fact that it was organically cultivated, to the sustainable way in which the soil is looked after, and to the strict selection process used during manufacturing. We guarantee this high content with our seal. Generally products which carry a manufacturer’s guarantee of a high Aloverose content demonstrate healthy plant growth, while also containing a large quantity of other important vital ingredients.

Aloverose and Acemannan
Acemannan has the same meaning as Aloverose. Both name the special form of acetylated polymannose from the Aloe vera barbadensis miller plant. Acemannan is used in American literature as the synonym for this ingredient.

Our skin renews itself regularly. Used cells are shed and new ones created.
