Every January there is a stampede to the health shops and supermarkets to buy healthy, detoxifying, cleansing foods to kick-start the diet and we all promise ourselves a healthier lifestyle… yes our livers and kidneys will thank us for the respite but what about our skin, our hair? How many of us think of cleansing from the outside? 60% of what we put onto our skin is absorbed into our bodies… so why not start from the outside?
Lets face it girls (if you will excuse the pun)... we will never stop wearing make-up or using skincare and toiletries, so why not use products that are natural, healthier for our bodies and kinder to our environment?
There are thousands of skincare products available to tempt us but not all of them live up to their great claims! Many women have become more sensitive to the products they have 'used for years' - and this is due not just to the fact that our skin thins as we get older but the list of ingredients in our creams gets longer in the quest to find the 'elixir of youth'!
...
My philosophy is this - take good care of your skin, and it will take good care of you! Eat well, sleep well, exercise and buy the most natural and organic products you can afford, healthy skin radiates a healthy glow. These days you don't have to take out a loan to buy natural products as you will see from the ever increasing range of gorgeous products we stock. Go on, try something new and natural today, my guess is... you'll be hooked!
If you would like advice with changing to natural products, please ask, we will be delighted to help. Be a smart, healthy and happy consumer and choose organic.
ps. If there is a particular product you would like us to stock, please let us know.

Founder - Pure Girl Organics
My story -
‘Pure Girl Organics’ was the result of my quest to find out what was causing my daughter’s “eczema/allergic contact dermatitis”. After years of trying various diets, skin tests, creams and medications, I literally stumbled across a cure. My daughter has no allergies, she eats well and is a normal healthy, happy child – what was causing her skin problem and driving her into a constant scratching frenzy, was the daily barrage of shampoos, soaps, bubble baths, creams and body lotions I used that contained nothing more than a cocktail of chemicals that were literally stripping her skin of its natural protective layers leaving it exposed, painfully sore and unable to heal.
(A child skin is only one fifth of the thickness of an adult and as parents, we are unknowingly exposing our babies and children to a barrage of harmful toxic chemicals on a regular basis.)
Manufacturers advertise directly to children with attractive packaging and colourful foaming liquids that are full of synthetic perfumes and fragrances, they are in fact, making bath time ‘unsafe’. You only have to read the labels to realise that very few, of the ingredients, used in most childrens' toiletries are actually necessary to cleanse a child’s hair and body. The same must be said for adult toiletries, do you really know what it is you are putting on your body? A woman can wear up to 20 different products daily!
After only a few weeks of eliminating the chemical cocktails of my daughter's bath care, and using only natural products, her eczema soon disappeared. Eczema now affects 1 in 5 children.
My own personal experience started me on a mission. I began my own research to find out more about Natural and Organic products and so the idea for ‘Pure Girl Organics’ was born. There are literally hundreds of products on the market today that claim to be ‘Natural’, sadly too many of them are far from that, on the contrary, some skincare and even baby products are 100% synthetic!
I do worry about the future, having two daughters I am aware they will increase their use of toiletries and cosmetics for decades to come. Add to this the very young age of children - both girls and boys - now using excessive amounts of make-up, body sprays, hair products, deodorants and perfumes etc., no-one really knows what the effects of decades of exposure to so many 'chemical cocktails' will have on our bodies. Personally, I am not prepared to 'wait and see'. The food industry has recently undergone unprecedented changes with compulsory labelling and the gradual elimination of unhealthy and often harmful ingredients. The same is now due for the cosmetics industry. I hope you will join us and make the change to organic skincare and cosmetics and enjoy a much healthier future from today.
